Angel Bagley-Savage

Angel Bagley-Savage was a pioneer in the Portland barber industry. She was widely recognized as one of the best barbers in the state. Being a male dominate industry Angel instantly stood out, she was so talented and her attention to detail in every haircut was incomparable. From flashy designs, fresh fades, beard trims, razor sharp lines, or just a simple cut, Angel could do it all.

Her love for people and the barbering craft made her an instant success. She helped so many individuals in the barber industry from teaching, words of encouragement and judging barber competitions.

She was the HAIRGODS BARBER + SNEAKER COMPETITION premier judge 3 consecutive years!

Angel was widely loved by many family, friends and clients. With this scholarship, her name will forever ring in the barber/ hair industry and we will continue the work she begun.

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS WILL BE AWARDED AS LONG AS FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE. AWARDED AMOUNT WILL VARY BASED ON APPLICATION RESPONSES ( $500-$5,000 ). APPLICATION WILL BE OPEN APRIL 15, 2024 THRU MAY 31, 2024. APPLICATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED BY A SELECTION COMMITTEE BASED ON ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND RESPONSE TO APPLICATION QUESTIONS. AWARDED AMOUNT WILL BE PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO RECIPIENTS CURRENT OR ANTICIPATED ENROLLED BARBER OR NATURAL HAIR PROGRAM.

Eligibility Requirements:

01 MUST be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a barbering or natural hair care program at an accredited institution in Oregon.

02 Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity within the industry

03 Open to all who identify with the B.I.P.O.C community.

Application Requirements:

01 Completed application form.

02 Proof of enrollment in a barber or natural hair care accredited program.

03 Letter of recommendation from a mentor, peer, teacher, or employer.

Award Presentation:

The scholarship recipients will be notified via email and the scholarship award will be presented during the HAIRGODS BARBER + SNEAKER COMPETITION JULY 28, 2024
